I just bought a new volcano on ebay for $400 US. It was a great deal and you can usually find volcano's on ebay with a bunch of accesories for around $530. Not a bad price at all.

I've been really pleased with the volcano so far. The high is really clean and it lasts for good amount of time. My one complaint so far is the size of the filling chamber. To get a good vapor cloud I have to put in a fair amount of herb. This is fine  when I'm smoking with other people but I tend to waste some when I smoke by myself. Does anyone know any simple modifications that won't void the warranty to solve this problem. I've thought of making some sort of insert that would make the diameter smaller.....

Also, I haven't had my volcano for long. I've been experimenting with different temperature settings and amount of herb to put in the filling chamber and had different levels of success in getting a dense vapor cloud. Does anyone have some suggestions on getting a really dense vapor cloud?

Thanks!

I prefer to have the setting at "7" ..........
Having the setting at 7 burns it just right, lifting only the THC from the herb.
Simply turn the analog to 9 and ur bag will become dense ..but this also burns the the herb
ur still getting the THC but now Ur burning Ur herb (not getting the full effect ..again its vapor .....some prefer a dense bag .....i like both )
i start off at 6.5 - 7 ..( again burning at 9 is OK .....especially if u like thick smoke ..it also, burns ur herbs a lot quicker ) the vapor is supp to save u $$$$

Thanks. I've been trying the heat setting between 7-9 and I still can't get a dense vapor with the highest setting. I do like it when the vapor isn't very dense, the hits from the balloon are super clean, but I would like to get some thicker smoke now and again. I've turned it up all the way to '9' and the vapor doesn't get very dense at all. I'm wondering if my volcano might be slightly defected and not reaching the max temperature. And at the setting 9 I can fill up bag after bag and the herb won't burn away. The herb will just turn into a brown color and not burn off. I know that this is the desired effect of vaporizing herb, but I would like to get some thick smoke sometimes.

What, did you expect something from me?

hey ppl, if you want to even see the vapor you are not wanting a vaporizer,it is not even supposed to be seen except maybe a tiny bit when you exhale and if you get that burnt popcorn taste then you are getting the bud way to hot, the volcano works very well at 5 if you have a bit of patience and you will get a very nice clean high that will last for hours but some ppl just will never grasp the concept of taking a hit without seeing it

Reality is a crutch for people that don't do drugs. People that do drugs end up having drugs do them. Do you consider Cannabis a drug? If not, which is doing the other?
NOTE: This is just some bull shit to make you think! I am just making everything up,
don't take me seriously....Or should you? WTF, did you actually just read all of this ramble?

WOW, that is nice as hell, haven't heard about that yet K+ for the find!

theres a few good things about this:

1). it will bring down the price of the older model Volcano's (so maybe a certain CHQ admin could afford one  Grin)

2). digital temp. gauge is great not only to make vaping easier but it also will be another thing cannabis advocates can use to their advantage when the anti-pot people drop the old "smoking anything is bad and can't be medicine"

do you know when they started making/selling these and how much they cost?  can't seem to find it for sale anywhere (but i didnt search for that long)

i merged all the vaporizer threads into one super-thread thats stickied at the top of this forum.. i will sticky this thread as well but i think it shouldn't be merged with the other vapo thread as they both have over 100 posts, 7,000 views already.

good idea merging all the volcano threads into one giant thread, makes it easier to find answers/ask questions.

Hey all,
I'm new to the vaporizer thing...and quite impressed to be honest. I have a volcano (not digital)....Just wondering something:

When I make a bag of vapor......I will usually finish it off in about a minute or two....my question is...do I leave my volcano on the entire time?.....I'm almost assuredly to make another bag or two...three...heck maybe even four....do I keep the volcano turned on during that time?...Or turn it off in between takes?  Huh
Sorry if I come off a bit slow to the take....I'm just new..and want to care for this thing the best I can. Thnx.  Tongue

Why not just clear the bag in 5-10 seconds? I'm sure it's fine to leave it on, especially if there is no warning or some shit like that..

Leave it on so you don't have to wait for it to warm up again. Unless you are taking hour breaks in between hits you will be fine, just don't leave it on for hours at a time. Have fun with your new Vapo, they are loads of fun!
