I'm looking to find out how to make oil from marijuana. Not hash oil.  I know you put the pot in a crock pot and add oil. Then strain when finished. I need to know how much pot and how much oil. How long does it cook? Anybody know?

Well it all depends on how strong you want the oil to be.  I would use the same recipe that you would to make butter.  I personally have never made canna oil.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help

OK..They use a crock pot because of low temps for cooking. Take a low taste oil like cannola or veg oil and then as much marijuana as you want, going no more than 1/2 the volume of the pot it is in. Then push down and add oil to just over the marijana, then over low heat ( the oil should be between140 to 160 degrees) this will extract all of the canabinoids into the oil, let this stew for at least 30 min to an hour making sure not to exceed the temp, ( if you do you will blow your canabinoids and they will be no good) then strain into container and you have oil......Have fun

Good Morning All, I think the best way is put butter (unsalted) into crock pot , MELT FIRST when butter looks pure,  add very fine ground weed into crock, stir w/ wooden spoon  cook for 1 hour (i have done this for 1/2 hour to 8 hours) formula is 2lbs. unsalted butter and 2 cups of fine weed from leaves &  buds.
I grow sinsemilla and carefully manicure so my butter is wonderful.  Salad dressings w/olive oil & balsamic vinegar touch of lemon juice, touch of Kosher or Sea salt.
Brownie mixes , add same amount of oil recipe calls for, make any adjustments such as juice or choc. syrup depending on your invention. One more thing I double all recipes.
Store butter in container when gel add a little water on top & store in fridge.  Hope this helps. peace Kiss

ladybird covered it, but i'll chime in with some additional info-
 - you can use other oils, such as coconut, olive, cocoa butter, milk, etc, and all use about 1/2 cup oil per 1/4 oz of bud.
 - some people add some water to the mix at the end of cooking. When poured into a bowl and chilled the butter goes to top, while the sludge stays behind in the bathwater.
 - I'm working on something involving sexual lubricants; I'll let ya know...

They've got friers and broilers, and Detroit Bar-B-Q ribs
But the treat of the treats
Is when they serve up all those fine eight-beats

Thanks everyone for the info.  First batch.   48 oz. oil and 4 0z. of snow cap bud clippings. I cooked to long and it got to hot, it turn brown. Trash i think.  The second batch went better Manx, i watch the temp. and when it got to 160 deg. i pulled it out of the Crockpot. A very dark green oil with a bad taste. Well not that bad. We use it on salads or cooking. Sleeping a lot better, and the high lasts.  I'll try the butter  Ladybug. I have some Purple Erkle for that.   Again Thanks all for the help

I have a question about this one: Once the oil contains the THC, how do you utilize it in food? Muffins require at least 350 degrees cooking temp. How can u use the oil without destroying it?

Hey  Good question.         I use it on salads with vineger mostly. I found several cookie, cake and other pastries that bake at 300 or 325 degrees.  It doesn't burn as fast as butter when cooking with it.  Anything you would use regular veg. oil with at a low temp. If the recipe calls for a higher temp. you can lower the temp a bit and just cook longer. Brownies call for 375 deg.  ( mine did). I just turned temp down 325 or 330 deg. and cooked for 45 min.s to 1 hr. instead of 30to 45 min.s.  Any good recipes?   Please post   Thanks    And  Have a Nice  Day

1 cookie got you lit?  damn, how good is that Snow Cap?  never heard of it, do you know what strains it's made from? (it's heritage)?

60 cookies you got, and 1 does the trick, damn!  an ounce would get you maybe 60 joints... but the high wouldn't last nearly as long, but the effects would come on quicker... if i had an ounce of it i would have smoked half and made half into cookies...but thats just me.  i've never heard of snow cap.. you out in california?

Yep    i'm in California. Snow Cap is a Inica i'm pretty sure. I just got 5 or 6  clones from the 215 co-op. It's got one hell of a head buzz. Canna oil is great, Just cook at a lower temp than normal. Browniees say 375 oe 400. I use a temp of 300 and cook them longer. 45 min.s on the reciepe, i'll let it stay in the oven about hour and a quarter or longer until done. I always use 4 ounces to a 32 oz. bottle of oil. In a crock pot, let it cook on low until the oil reaches about 160 degrees.         For  Butter i use 1 ounce to a pound of butter. Put water in pot   bring to boil. Put finely ground pot in the boiling water. turn down to simmer. Pour through chessecloth and place in refer. to harden. Then i make my chocalate chip peanut butter cookies.  The peanut butter kills most of the taste of the pot.  About 5 doz. cookies from a pound of butter.
