oxycontin vs. oxycodone IR (roxicodone, roxicet, percocet, endocet, etc)

Anyone have a preference or think there is any difference in effects?

in my opinion the best are the ones with just oxycodone (oxycontin, roxicodone).  the percocet's and stuff are annoying, you have to eat them (i like to sniff sometimes) and the APAP is harsh on the stomach/liver.

They may all contain oxycodone, but IMO there is a world of difference between IR and oxycontin.   Even further, there is a big difference among the class of IR's available.   

If I had to make a list, my favorite first and least enjoyable last, it would look like this:

1) roxicodone (instant release)      <- love it
2) oxycontin    (extended release)
3) percocet/endo/roxicet


Roxicodone is far and away, my oxy of choice.  Personally I am more a fan of morphine.  But roxicodone is perfect anytime of day.  It gives me lots of energy, puts me in a peaceful, creative and motivated state-of-mind.   I tend to feel a stimulating effect when i take oxy as opposed to morphine/H/hydromorphone etc. which is a stronger, warmer body high with more nodding.   It's great for getting things done, expressing creativit

Even if you crush up an oxycontin in an attempt to break the time-release mechanism in regular oxycodone, it is still impossible to end up with a product as fast-acting as oxy IR (instant release).   I've had 80 mg brand name OC  The reason I like roxicodone better than other IR oxy's is because I don't like the APAP (acetaminophen) found in percocet, roxicet etc.  So much so that I would rather bump oxycontin than swallow/parachute a perc or endocet.  Parachuting or sniffin oxy is still very enjoyable imo.

roxicodone or brand name oxycontin i guess is my favorite... no point in having the tylenol unless you are trying to wean/quit and the APAP prevents you from taking a lot more, like if u had 80mg oxy's or 30mg roxi's lying around compared to a 5mg perc with 325mg of APAP

if you smokke, then why would you also take pills..kinda ignorant. Meds like the ones mentioned will eventually eat you up..they're terrible and worthless.If you're taking them to get a buzz..then thats gayer..And also, if you do take stuff like oc's or anything of the nature, then you cant make any statement in favor of medical cannabis..kinda defeats the purpose.

Couldn't agree more.  I was on hydro for 2 weeks last year after having a bunch of teeth pulled.  Felt like shit for 3 days after I stopped taking it.  Lots of pill heads around here.  Everyone of them I've met has screwed up their lives by abusing them.

Oxycodone is a horrible drug, I don't want to get into the whole long story but it started with a once in a blue moon high to a daily 120mg habit, ending in rehab. And that's the same path it's followed for almost every abuser I know. Everyone I know that said they had the self control or the brains to stop that from happening ended in the same place, it's just too powerfully addicting to really be able to have control over. Worst part is you don't even realize how deep in you are until its too late.
