Manicured and processed the last Diesel Ryder today.  I ended up with about 1 1/2 ounces from the 3 plants.  Would have been a little more but the mites probably destroyed 3-4 grams.  Also ended up with 88 seeds, 70 of which are good and dark and look very viable.  I'm sure I'll find a few more that I missed.  Everything dried rather quickly because of the hot temperatures in the garage.  I'm going to try and dry the next plants in the master bath as long as the smell doesn't get too bad.  That's the room that's farthest away from where people congregate.  Everything is now put away in tupperware containers to continue curing.

The three plants were harvested when the trics were in different stages of development.  The first plant was the one with the bad mites so taken a little early when the trics were clear to a little cloudy.  The second one was taken at about 50% amber, and the last one at about 80%.  I've smoked all three now and 50% seems to be the best.  The early one seems a little less potent and the high is different, less intense.  The 80% one is also a little less potent, but not much.  Fortunately the 50% one also yielded the most, about 3/4 of an ounce.

I've learned a lot from this first grow in pots.  I know with better techniques I can get increased yields.  I see no reason that I can't double what I got and average around an ounce per plant.  I've got some Snowryders and AK47 x Blueberry that are ready to transplant.  Instead of using the manure/potting soil mix I used for the DRs and HK I'm going to try some Miracle Grow Organic planting mix.  My mixture was allowing the pots to dry out too quickly, requiring almost daily watering.  Right near the end I used some Miracle Grow Potting Soil from a pot that didn't produce and filled around the top of one plant where the dirt had settled.  I found that was very good at keeping the moisture in so watering was only needed every 3rd day.  I think because they were drying out so quickly they didn't have time to properly absorb the Fox Farms Tiger Bloom I was feeding them.  It also took me awhile to get the pH adjusted properly.  Both the soil mixture and the rain water I've been using are both at 7.  I followed Rider's suggestion and mixed some distilled white vinegar in with the water.  I did this about 3 times and the pH did drop to 6.  I'm hoping that by the end of this season I'll have enough experience and knowledge to become a successful Low Ryder grower.

Once it has a chance to cure some more I'll post a smoke report on it.

Thanks for all the info! I think I learned something.
Looking forward to a smoke report and maybe a pic of it, too.   Huh

Good I think we are all learning!  Nice to be making your own seeds Muddy..it will be interesting to see how those turn out.  I have never used a pH meter since i stopped growing hydro.  I mean I know I should but look at the results Ive had...I cant imagine getting better but in the future I will be looking in to getting one so I can experiment and see the difference.  Your yields suffered a lil due to probably your soil but what about the rough times during germination beg. veg etc?  Im going to look for that post on the distilled vinegar because I know my pH is high too and see what happens.  Post some pics if ya can...

Rider's formula was 1 teaspoon per gallon of water.  I've been using that about every other watering.  But we've been having so much rain I've hardly needed to water, so I haven't been able to feed or stabilize the pH the way I really wanted to.  We're getting into the dryer weather so I'm going to try 1/2 teaspoon with every watering and see how that works.  I also think all the rain was leaching the nutrients out of the soil, also hurting the yield.  And yes, conditions were bad when I started this grow.  I should have waited another 2-3 weeks before starting it.

There are about 20 seeds that are light green/white, so I'm not expecting much from them.  The others are all big, fat, green/brown and should all be good.  Next year I'm going to be more selective and only pollinate the best females from the best males.  This year I pollinated the lower buds on all the plants.  I had no idea how many I would get and wanted to make sure I got enough for next year.

I'll get some pictures as soon as I have time.  I've got 47 things going on right now.  Matter of fact, this is my first post from a new PC I'm installing today.  Already have issues, Vista Ultimate won't recognize my SCSI card and all my stuff is on those drives.  Looks like I'll be reloading lots of software.  Tongue
