watering outdoor plants

hey-question- my dad(who was a 3rd generation farmer until he graduated college) said that its not good to water outdoor vegetables unless its early in the morning or late in the evening.Something about the sunlight and heat on freshly-watered plants during the hot part of the day is bad on the plants and does something to the leaves.Im not sure as to exactly what he said, but it followed those lines..But was wondering if yall with outdoor cannabis have noticed anything like that on yalls plants.Do yall water only at certain times during the day or does it not matter with green?

I don't grow cannabis outdoors, but I do not water my vegetables during the day. I always water in the morning and evening. If the sun starts kicking ass right at the start of the day and the plants are cooking in the heat and you toss some water on them you can burn them. The little water droplets kinda act like lenses and can fry the shit out of the parts of the leaf they're on top of. Also if you water in the morning, throughout the whole day you can make sure that your plants have plenty water that they can take up as they photosynthesize. Watering at night is similar unless it's super hot where you live at night, but chances are if you water at night the plant will still have plenty of water for the next day.

Watering in the evening or night invites pests and mold, especially if the water droplets stay on the flowers or leaves. Morning is by far the best time to water as the water has enough time to evaporate from the foliage before the sun get going strong.

I water in the morning for the same reasons. If I water my garden in the evening it will be dried out by the end of the day if it's real hot. If I water it in the morning it's still damp come evening.

Sorry Pastor, that really sucks. Some people are just such dirt bags. Not only do you loose but all those suffering people who were going to benefit from your excess. If I ever ran across someone's grow I'd just let it be. Well, maybe a little sample. Are you going to try again or is it too late in the season there?
Sorry to hear about the hip replacement. That's not going to be fun. Your luck is reminding me of that old blues song, "if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all."

Sorry Pastor, I guess that is the risk we take when we grow. For that reason I plant very small patches. As to Muddy's sampling suggestion. i had an unfortunate experience 20 years ago when doing utility consulting work on islands in the Caribbean. Was working with some locals in the bush on a hill and while going to take a leak in the bush came across a path... well ended up in a field with some five footers and was amazed! I snipped a ripe 4" bud then noticed some Rastafarians running up the hill ...so scared as hell I split. Later I found out the Rastafarians pulled up the whole field because they thought I would tell LEO's. It was sad, I felt really embarrassed and ashamed. It was my fault a whole garden was destroyed. I could even smoke the little bud I snipped. I ended up giving it to another Rastafarian I knew along with the whole story. It did finally get back to the gardeners and they knew I was remorseful about the whole situation. From then on I promised myself never to sample or even gawk at somebodies garden unless invited.

i can go either way on that one..
as a smoker who paid 80 bucks for 3grams of purp recently, and gets ammonia smelling harsh green thats NEVER light green-always the dark green and brown thats just gives you a head change for 75 a oz,if i came upon a field that was near harvest, id at least take a cola or 2, but not the whole damn thing...but around friends, ive never pinched out of another's sack, but have had it done numerous times to mine.and i just didnt say a thing for awhile b/c i was high and didnt care, wasnt that big a deal since it was good and good priced back then.but that changed after the stealing escalated to money and other things of mine...but as to the jamaicans seeing you piss and ripping up their own, they have to charge that to the game, thatd be on them.id just not have went back for a couple days and waited to see what would happen before tearig up all my plants..

I know a guy who runs a Gyro Trac machine use for clearing trees under power lines. He told me he came upon a plot of about 25 plants. Since it was in the right-of-way he should have just cleared the whole thing out. He snipped himself a nice bud and then cleared everything except a 10' area around the plants, leaving the plants and enough brush and trees so the plants would still be hidden. I would have done the same if it were me. My brother-in-laws brother has had his crop ripped off several times. Someone knew where he was growing, waited until they were almost ready and then came in at night and got the plants. After the second time he stopped growing. Knowing how much time and work goes into growing a crop, especially one in a remote area where you have to carry in water, I could never steal someone's crop. Just hope that if someone were to find mine they would feel the same way.
