"rock me baby, till you make me satisfied"

« on: July 22, 2009, 10:35:32 PM »

Placed a seed order for a friend a couple weeks ago and ordered 3 Pakistan Ryder for myself.  I also got 5 Mi5 freebies.  I started all 8 seeds under my light the night before last.  The Mi5 will be very interesting to grow.  They are supposed to get up to 44" high, produce 2 ounces, and still be ready in 9-10 weeks.  Based on my experience growing autos this year I think I can expect it to get about 30-36 inches tall and yield around 1 1/2 oz.  Should be fun to grow.

On my suggestion the people at dope-seeds have gathered all the auto flowering strains they sell on one page of their web site.  If anyone's interested, here's the link.    dope-seeds.com/auto_flowering_seeds.htm

Hey Squatch, welcome to CHQ.  Those should be two good choices.  The Onxy is from the same breeder as the Mi5, yiields the same but only gets 36" high.  Let us know how they do for you.

To my knowledge no one on here is growing any of those. They are all fairly new, having come on the market in the past 4-5 months.

Quite the contrast growing these two strains side by side.  Two of the Mi5s are now 15" and the third is 26.  None of the Paki ryders is over 5" tall, the smallest auto I've grown so far.  All are about 8 weeks old now and setting buds nicely.  I really like the way the Mi5 are growing.  Two were accidentally topped by my goats.  They have produced 4 and 3 branches respectevly.  Today I LSTed the one with 3 branches.  Since it's been raining for the past week I haven't been able to feed them.  This weather pattern is supposed to continue so I decided to give them another feeding of bone meal.  The soil has compacted since transplant so sprinkled on the bone meal and then some fresh soil to refill the pots.  Just got finished when it started raining, again.

I think the breeder of the Mi5 and Onyx is really on to something.  If they can produce 2 ounces per plant as advertised I see them becoming very popular.  So far I like what I'm seeing.

I know and I'm sorry.  If I could use my old Minolta 35mm I'd post some beauties.  My digital camera came along with the Mrs.  It sucks and I don't like it.  My eyesight such that I have a hard time using it.  A new one is on the list but I can't afford what I want yet.

The Mi5 plants are doing very well.  We finally got a break from all the rain for about 3 days this week and the tallest one has grown another 3 inches, putting it at almost 30 inches high.  The kola is almost 7 inches long.  The other one that is cropped only is now 18" and is growing 4 main buds.  The one that I LSTed is also doing well.  All the buds have turned up and it's filling out very nicely.

The Pakistan Ryder is a strange little plant., probably not a good choice for outdoor.  The three of them are 4, 5 and 6 inches high, very small even for autos.  Two are of the "bud on a stick" variety.  The third had an odd leaf structure right from the beginning and has turned out to be this little busy 4" plant.  Where the other two only have the one bud this one has about 6.  Did find some spider mites hiding up under the bottom.  Sprayed them down good and hopefully caught them in time.

Glad to see you you've got some interesting stuff going on despite the low yield you're expecting from your remote location. I like the Mi5 strain, sounds like a good mix of stealth and yield! I'd like to see it sold as feminized seed!

Thanks Tex.  Mi5 and Onxy have only been on the market for 4-5 months.  I'm thinking they will have fems soon.  They are very interesting.  Where most of the other autos I've grown this year look like autos, the Mi5 looks more like a miniature version of a full size plant.  The other autos mostly have the smaller 3 fingered leaves but this stain has a lot of 5 fingered ones.  The fan leaves are much bigger and the uncropped one will probably have a kola about 7 or 8 inches long.  They were about a week later to flower which helps to give a bigger yield.  I'm seeing that the biggest factor in determining yield is how big you get them in veg so another week is very helpful.  I think there will be a lot of breeding done with these strains.

The buds on the Mi5 are really filling in nicely.  I estimate they have approximately 2 more weeks to go before harvest.  That would put them at about 16 weeks.  The biggest one looks like it may yield about 1 1/2 oz. and the other two about 1 each.  The buds on all the other autos I've grown tend to be kind of loose.  These appear to be much tighter.  Can't wait to give it a try.

Picked one of the Pakistan Ryders last week.  Apparently I didn't get the one male I had away from the girls soon enough.  Found 5 seeds on it.  That may help explain it's small stature.  It was only 5" tall and yielded 3 grams.  The other two should be ready in another week or so.  This strain doesn't seem to be suited for outdoor growing, but since I've got some free seeds, I'll give it a go again next year.

I've still got the other 2.  One is about the same, maybe an inch bigger.  The third one had an odd leaf structure right from the beginning and branched off and has 4 small buds.  I should be a little more off of it.  I think they are much better suited to indoor.  Still wouldn't be huge yielders, maybe a 1/2 oz. each.

The Mi5s are entering their final phase.  The fan leaves are starting to die off and the buds covered with trics.  The buds are also very hard and tight.  And they are really stinking up the yard.  Another week or so and they should be ready.

The two remaining Pakistan Ryders will be ready any day now.  Fan leaves are almost gone and trics are turning amber.
