Had a heavy frost warning last night so moved my plants into the garage for the night.  Good thing, everything was covered with frost this morning.

The Mi5s will be 13 weeks old on Wed.  The biggest one has a kola on top about 8" long that is a thing of beauty.  I trimmed off the last of the fan leaves tonight.  It's getting a slight purple tinge around the top of the buds.  Very pretty plant and by far the best I've grown this year.  The second one, which was cropped, has 4 nice branches covered with bud.  The tops of the buds and the surrounding leaves are turning a deep purple.  The one I LSTed has 3 branches and smaller buds.  I'm guessing there's about 4 ounces between all three.

I'm thinking of bring the one I LSTed indoors under my light.  Daylight here is down to about 12 hours a day and it's been cool.  That plant still has all it's fan leaves and it's growth seems to be a little slower than the other two.  But it is still growing so I'm thinking I might be able to pack a little more bud on it under the light.

If this smokes as good as it looks it will be a real winner.  My biggest plant will probably yield between 1 1/2 to 2 ounces.  Grown indoors I'm betting some of you could probably get 3 ounces or better off of one.  They could be run 20/4 the whole time and finish in around 12 weeks.   I'm already planning on growing more of it next year, along with it's sister, Onyx.

Pakistan Ryders are a funny little plant.  I'm going to pick one of the remaining two tomorrow.  It's got 4 little buds on it, maybe 6 or 7 grams total.  The other one has less.  They don't appear to be a good outdoor strain.

I had 5 free seeds from Jim at dope-seeds.  Got 3 females, no males.  Wish there had been a male so I could have gotten some seeds for next year.  After growing these I don't want to bother with the regular autos anymore.  Their potency is rated at 9 out of 10 so I'm hoping that's the case.  I think a lot of breeding is going to be based off the Mi5 and Onyx.  An auto that can produce 2-3 ounces or more per plant is perfect for me.

Those Mi5 and Onyx are definitely going to be on the grow list. as soon as the R.R.F/Unknowns are done, I'm going to put 5 of each. definitely let us know if the potency is really up there like they claim. they say the R.R.F is 9/10 also. but only a oz off each. i would definitely switch to the mi5/onyx if the get 2-3oz per. and still have 9/10 potency.

It's the future of steaLth growing in this country, muddywaters. Go for it but do it with care and w/o names.
The future is in those genetics, man. Don't listen to any other B.S. about it. Ruderalis is good.

And it's not the R.R.F. or the British air force it's the ATF.

I'll post a smoke report as soon as it's done and cured.  The sun was shining on them when I got home from work yesterday and they were sparkling.  Loaded with crystals and the purple color is so pretty.  Never had a purple plant before.

I saw the potential of autos after I grew the Low Ryder IIs last year.  That's why I grew so many strains this year, wanted to really explore their potential.  My only beef was the low yield, especially outdoors.  MI5 and Onyx seem to have solved that issue.  So wish I had a place to grow indoors.  Trying to talk my neighbor into letting me build a grow box in his basement.  A 2' x 3' box could easily support 6 plants.  Potentially could produce 6 pounds a year.

BTW, R.R.F. is Russian Rocket Fuel, an auto strain.   Smiley

Russian Rocket Fuel, eh?.......
Well, These top strains are beyond my growing skills. Better luck next time  m.waters.
This flowering little plant is too tricky and complicated for me to grow. Enjoy.

It just wanted to exist, is all......must have been a completely unknown genetic line to me.............. to be continued.

Actual TexRx, There not much different then growing a normal strain. At less for me, Seeing I'm growing in soil. Only difference I've noticed so far was that i had to switch to my flowering nutes a lot sooner. They stay small... My R.R.F's stay about 14 - 18 inches tall. I leave my lights on 20 hours, and off for 4.  That's pretty much it. All my R.R.F's popped out of the soil around Oct. 4, and I'm already starting to see white hairs.  expecting them to finish about first or second week of Dec. And yield about a Oz off each maybe more.

These auto's are definitely the wave of the future. at less for people who grow in small and stealthy spaces.
TexRx, check out my grow report http://www.cannabishq.com/forum/index.php/topic,7195.0.html
And if your interested in auto's check out the selection at dope-seeds.com.

Just wondering Muddy, you know of anyone growing them via hydro?
I would think maybe they would get better results seeing how normal strains grow faster and bigger via hydro.
I'm not a hydro grower, way to complicated. pretty sure i could figure it out with the help of all the hydro growers on CHQ.
But i like soil, Taste better and less to screw up.  Wink

 Cool

Best of luck. And slow down........ you got it right already!!

420 peace.

BTW, Incy, I already know that you can grow. Nice grow report.............

To me autos are easier to grow.  Across all the 8 strains I grew this year their growth cycle was uniform.  They all showed their sex at 4 weeks for male and 5 weeks for females.  They displayed 2 basic growth structures, either taller and bushier or shorter with little or no side branching.  This was evident even within strains.  While the shorter ones did produce some nice sized kolas, the taller plants yielded better.  All were finished between 11-13 weeks.  Average yield was about 1/2 ounce with the highest at 3/4 ounce.  The Mi5 was the only exception in that it didn't show sex until 6 weeks and probably won't finish for 14 weeks.  I expect it to yield over an ounce per plant.  I've learned a lot this year, and expect I'll increase my yields next year.

One important thing I've learned is that the bigger you can get them in veg the more they will yield.  I did use a 175 watt MH light for the first 4-5 weeks for all my plants.  While it got them to a reasonable size, they weren't as big as they should have been before they started to bloom.  For my space a 400 watt would be much better.  Indoors I think yields of over 2 ounces are possible with sativa based strains and maybe 1 1/2 from indicas under 20/4.  Also, they seem very tollerant of higher nutrient concentrations once they are in flower.  Feed Fox Farms Tiger Bloom at 4 teaspoons per gallon with no adverse results.

I loved that since I was growing them in pots I was able to keep them around the garage where I could observe them every day.  I was able to spot when the spider mites started and immediately kill them off.  Not the case with my full size, as they aren't close by.  Very easy to put a couple here, a couple there, and not raise any suspicion.  If anyone was coming around I could just pick up the pots and move them.  Even the Mi5s are small enough that they wouldn't draw any attention from the air.

To answer your question Incy, off the top of my head I can't think of anyone growing them hydro.  Rider and JJ are the two main hydro growers here and I'm not sure if either has tried growing any.  Since they would have accelerated growth in veg I would expect that they would produce very well.

I agree that autos are the future.  Given that they have only been breeding them for 4 or 5 years I expect we'll see lots of new strains coming on the market as their popularity increases.

Peace to 420 but I can't grow it.

Hey Muddy quick question...

You say the mi5 are turning purplish? I checked the website again but they fail to mention this effect.
Could this be due to the cold night and warm days?
I remember reading somewhere for the GDP to turn a deeper purple you
must be able to drop night time temp to around 55 degrees or something like that.
I remember you saying frost warnings. So i take it that it must be chillier at night.
Am I in the right ballpark here? And does this apply to any strain?
