So, if you're like me, then you sometimes think deeply on subjects while smoking. Here's another.Do you believe in evolution??
Im not asking about religion because that usually turns into a long argument.Im simply asking if you believe we were put here by someone or something-or do you believe its all one bigass coincidence and we came from primates?  And if you believe we did evolve, do you believe at least that the world/universe was intelligent design or did that just happen too?

now for my personal answer.I dont believe in evolution at all. They say they find fossils and stuff that are millions of years old.How do they know, they dont have anything that they KNOW is a million years old to compare to. They say we came from primates, yet there are still dozens of breeds of monkeys running around, why didnt they evolve?   And if so, did each race evolve from a different species of monkey?
Now another thing is dinosaurs. They say some catastrophic incident killed the dinosaurs-so why didnt it kill the humans or primates?

They say the earth was created by a 'big bang' that was gases igniting and forming things..so if it was burning gases and all that heat-then how did any organism survive that?

Plus, theres MILLIONS of different species of animals on earth, so just because we have a little similar dna to one, thats the one we came from?? They use rats in labs because of the similarities with humans, yet noone thinks we came from rats.  A pig's skin is more like humans than ANY other animal, yet noone says we came from pigs.

just something to make you think...

On the other hand are DNA is 95 percent identical to apes. Also fossils and things are aged or we figure out their age using carbon dating and in which level or layer of the earth in wich it was found. humans had not yet evolved when the dinosaurs became extinct and if they say what happened actually did it is explained that animals evolved to their newly changed environment just as animals did during the ice age. Not trying to knock anybodys ideas or beliefs i mean there is no way to say for sure but there are two sides to every story and both should be looked at and considered. either way peace to all.

Carbon dating is a proven and reliable way to date things from the past.  They measure the rate at which the carbon is decaying, which is a fixed rate, and can extrapolate from that.  There is strong evidence of a huge meteor hitting off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula that was big enough to put enough dust into the atmosphere to block the sun for at least 3 years.  Certainly long enough to kill most vegetation and cause the extinction of the dinosaurs.  Small mammals did survive, which evolved into today's mammals, including man.  All species are still evolving, but the process is so slow we do not see the changes in our short lifetimes.  There were no organisms at the time the gases and matter came together to form the planets.  Life evolved from single cell organisms that developed in the oceans.  Took many millions of years for the conditions to become such that it could happen.  To me the scientific data is too strong to discount evolution.

But that doesn't mean I don't believe in God.  Here's my theory.  God is the universe.  We are part of the universe the same way an atom or electron in our bodies is part of us.  The earth is part of the universe the same way a cell is part of us.  Our solar system is part of the universe the same way our heart or liver is part of us.  We grow and evolve the same as the universe expands and evolves.  It's the only way I've found that makes sense to me and allows me to reconcile evolution and creationism.

I agree. i mean dont get me wrong on what i said i also believe in god but evolution does not have to be a contrary idea it can be connected with creationism. Mw i couldnt have put it better myself. peace

I am on your side of the evolution pozit..the thing that i find strange is the creationists can't seem to accept the world is more than 6-7000 years old....i even had a creationist try to tell me that if humans and animals kept 'mating' that the weight of all those extra beings would eventually start to weigh the earth down and we would start to sink out of the orbit of the sun!!   Those said things are what we are up against and the thinking of how things come to be by the creationists is so far OFF the mark it boggles the mind...Ergo the science!
If you had the biggest object in the known universe or put all the galaxies back into one big ball they would still float in space...it don't matter how huge or heavy an object is, it could not weigh enough to sink in space!

i dont think that they dont believe its older, just not the 100's of millions of years that some say.Science is not facts or truths.Every chemistry/geology/biology teacher ive had in college has said that.Actually, they stress that. Any 'scientist' that says they've 'proven' something is talking out of their ass.Its an educated guess simply because you can't test every hypothesis or theory. Its a theory that earth is millions of years old. Why?Because carbon dating is a man made technique using man made tools with man made equations. Its NOT a 100% accurate proof.
And to muddy, if the sun was blocked for 3 years-that would kill everything-not just dinosaurs. What vegetation would the little animals that you believe evolved into us eat? Also the cold would kill everything just like 'nuclear winter'.Also, why arent there animals in transition?
And if there was no organisms, then where'd the ones in the oceans come from?
And then we go back to the beginning-where did what caused the 'big bang' come from? you cant make something from nothing, no matter how hard you try.
