I am almost ready to dry my bud.  I want to take each bud and place them in  brown lunch bags.  The closet stays at room temp (68-73 degrees).  Is that hot enough?  Does anyone out there known of a better way to get best results.  I took a sample and dried it.  Shouldn't it have turned brown?  Is green bud after dried as good as brown after drying?  Please inform me....Northforker

Heres is how i dry my bud. I first take off complete branches and remove all the fan leaves including the smaller ones. Then i hang the branch on a wire this slows down the time it take to cure because of the moisture in the Branch "try leaving as much branch possable".

After two to five days "the branch will snap instead of bending" depending on the temperature "the lower the better" I remove the buds from the branches then put the buds into paper bags to even out themoisture in the buds as well as to slow the cure.

Once the buds in the bags are dry enough to smoke i move them too glass jars for long term storage "min five years without loss of potency" from my personal experience.  Wink  MAKE SURE THEY DO NOT MOLD CHECH DAILY FOR THE FIRST WEEK IN THE GLASS JARS FOR OFF OURDERS AND OR CONDESNATION where as if you let them get bone dry they loose there potency.

FYI in my experience Great buds will change colour once dry to a reddish brown.

BTW cannabis does not reach its full potential until its cured and stored for a full month.

Good luck.

I basically use the same technique as Rider.  I also remove all the fan and other larger leaves first.  I hang whole buds in my garage on lines using spring loaded clothes pins.  When the stems snap but don't break I then store them in those Glad type disposable plastic food storage containers.  I prefer them over glass jars as they are easy to stack and store and since my garage has a cement floor, less risk of breakage should I drop one.  After about 2 months I then vacuum pack the buds for long term storage.  Justs remember to "vent" your storage containers daily for at least the first month of storage.  As the buds cure they will give off gases that need to be vented off.  I also smell mine as I vent them.  You will notice that in the beginning they will smell like hay but as they cure the smell will change to that familiar bud smell.  I have some buds stored for 3 years now and they are still as potent as the day I vacuum packed them.  Your temperature is fine.  Too warm and it will dry out the buds too fast.  Slower the better.

Weed gets you through times of no money better than money gets you through times of no weed.
