We have the same light set up and only got about 1/2 ounce on our biggest plants. Not so sure what happened. We used good soil and nutrients.

A few things that could have contributed to the small yield:

-Forced flowering at 4 weeks.
-Room temp in the 90s for a few weeks during August.
-Ran out of nutrients for 2 weeks during flowering.
-The timer wasn't working right and the light popped on a few times during the "dark" cycle. (this happened the last week before harvest)
-Hubby trimmed the shit out of the plants, leaving only 4 branches for flowers.

Our new crop has just entered the veg stage after 3 weeks of seedling stage (under a florescent). We are going to veg until we see preflowering. I think we were just too excited. Let me take that back. I know we were too excited.

The only thing that sucks is that we only have 2 ounces left to get us through 3 months. Shocked

There are too many factors at play, here.
Genetics will give you the best answer.
If you check what seeds you buy, look for yield and length of flowering info.
Since you are using 1000 watts you can count on plenty of light.
Therefore, if fed properly, you may be able to reach the max~yield of that specific strain.
{ Especially if it is a strain that is below 6 feet indoors... }

ya dig??!!?

I'd say that just about everything on your list probably contributed.  You're also lucky that with the light coming on that they didn't turn hermie on you.  IMO probably the biggest factor was the excessive trimming.  Generally speaking, only trim to control height or to force branching.  I'm sure you'll do better the next time.

K+ on a successful first harvest.

mylar.  careful ... some reflective materials like tin foil do not really reflect the light spectrum that the plants want.  It'll look all bright and shiny, but not be anywhere near as effective.

Nice with the digging idea.  I've been dreaming of a "bat cave"  myself!

Mylar or white paint, preferably mylar.

I've given thought to digging a root cellar that would double as a grow area.  Very stealth.

Lol ya well my master plan is this, I'll have my little 2 plant grow area till I can afford a "storm shelter'' and that 20x7 will go under my barn I'll line the top with thermal liner, so plains can't see it, and it will be under the barn if the electric bill goes up, it's no biggie. And I was thinking of lineing the stalls with thick rubber mats and just have my cave opening under the stall. Mwhahaha Smiley it's about a 10 grand project got 8 saved

That's some serious $.  I'm planning on building a storage shed next year next to my garage.  Want to partition off an area on one end to house a freezer and 2nd refrigerator.  Thinking of building a grow area in there.  Maybe something around 2 1/2 x 4'.  Self contained with it's own heat/ac unit so I can run it year round.

Company around here that builds septic tanks also builds precast concrete storm shelters.  Dig a hole, drop it in, back fill and done.  No idea what they cost but always thought that was an intriguing idea.

Ya for like a 10x7 it's around 5 grand, that's better then payog lawyers and fees and so forth... It's better to b safe then sorry, and in my bat cave I'm going to have a temp regulator, I don't mind spending money to make money cause the extra I'll get I can just pawn on some one else to sell. And if Make an extra 10g a grow season I'll have it made lol

I hear ya.  I just spent the last of my extra cash on equipment to set up my indoor grow.  Will be paid for 4x over after the first grow.
